David Charles started his career as a trainee Actuary before moving to counterparty risk management with NatWest Markets in 1995. David subsequently transferred to Asia in 1997 where he became Head of Interest Rate Derivative Trading for Greenwich, Natwest. Following the takeover of NatWest by Royal Bank of Scotland, he returned to risk management to take charge of the region, before helping to found Warren Buffet’s GenRe Financial Products office in Tokyo. In 2002, David returned to London, joining Deutsche Bank, where he performed several roles before becoming Global Head of Risk and Capital Management for the Investment Bank. David then later became a partner at GLG partners where he was COO/CRO for the Credit and Convertibles business; he remained in this position until 2019. Since this date, David has performed various risk management and advisory roles in Finance before starting at Calibrate Partners in May 2021.
